This DevOps Startup, “LinearB,” Optimizes Software Development Practices for Improved Operational and Business Efficiency

A data-driven approach is necessary for the continuous improvement of the software engineering process in a company. With the correct information, software development teams can communicate effectively with business executives, team leaders can eliminate delivery bottlenecks and ship projects faster, and developers can help their colleagues more. . There is a lack of data analytics tools specifically designed for DevOps to improve productivity based on objective data-driven insights.

LinearB, a California-based company, helps organizations track software teams with its data analytics platform. The platform integrates project management, source code, deployment, and incident management tools with analytics to help uncover potential areas of automation. It provides insights into software delivery and its technology offers insights improving the efficiency of DevOps and application development processes.

The platform identifies and compares an organization’s engineering metrics to help its teams focus on five key areas, namely engineering efficiency, code quality, planning accuracy, integrity and the public relations process. It provides many metrics for DevOps teams to improve their performance. Its developer workflow optimization bot, WorkerB, helps developers save time by automating manual tasks. To locate bottlenecks and automate developer workflow improvement, it correlates data from multiple tools, like Github, Jira, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and more.

The company aims to empower development teams to continuously improve performance and accelerate delivery through Software Delivery Intelligence. They claim that 80% of organizations using LinearB see a reduction in cycle time from month to month.

The company recently raised $50 million in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Tribe Capital. Salesforce Ventures and existing investors Battery Ventures and 83North also participated in the funding round. Tribe Capital’s Sri Pangular will join the organization’s board of directors as part of the funding. This round brings the total raised by the company to $71 million.
