Software Engineering Manager – Hypepotamus


Listen360 + Qiigo, a division of EverCommerce, is looking for a Software Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be one of our key leaders for our engineering team. You will be involved in all aspects of the software delivery process with a significant opportunity to participate in the strategic direction and management of the software development staff, as well as defining the inputs and outputs of internal and external stakeholders.

You will implement and improve consistent software engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery aligned with business initiatives and expectations. Ensure a high degree of cross-functional communication and engagement in accordance with product planning, deployment and support.

You are a hands-on technical leader with a passion for technology leadership and on-time delivery. You have a proven track record of delivering platform enhancements in a complex, high-speed environment. You have a solid leadership experience in Web and SaaS development in an Agile / Scrum environment. You enjoy leading teams and you enjoy working in a creative, dynamic and highly structured environment.

As an Engineering Manager, you will help our engineers develop their career plans and assign project work tailored to their skills. You will be a hands-on engineer if needed to help your engineering team ensure quality code and perfect versions.

This role can be located anywhere in the United States. Listen360 + Qigo also has an office in Alpharetta, Georgia. We are open to it being fully remote, hybrid or fully in the office.   • Guide the architectural development of multiple SaaS web applications, keeping an eye on the future expansion of teams, products and users
  • Collaborate with product management and other teams to develop new functionality within established quality controls, and move the product forward in a predictable and transparent manner across the roadmap
  • Ensure a high level of performance, availability, reliability and security with a thoughtful and modern version management process
  • Identify opportunities to refactor and tactically modernize the code base and infrastructure
  • Develop and organize the team into several autonomous teams, each focused on several features of the application
  • Ability to lead a distributed team, including offshore engineers, while maintaining a high degree of commitment, productivity and quality
  • Train engineers to high levels of commitment, ownership and expertise
  • Establish departmental OKRs and participate in meetings to monitor their progress
  • Able to assess the opportunity cost of different engineering approaches, finding the optimal balance between doing it right and doing it quickly

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Over 7 years of software engineering experience building large, maintainable, well-organized, high-performance Web / SaaS applications
  • 3+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams
  • Practical experience in one or more languages ​​such as Ruby / Rails, Python, PHP, Java, etc. (Ruby / Rails is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js, React.js, Angular, Vue.js etc.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and commitment
  • Experience using Agile / Scrum processes, artifacts, roles and methods
  • Strong knowledge of modern web application design and architectural models
  • Experience in product design and UI / UX design is a plus
  • Experience working with AWS, Terraform, Docker / Kubernetes and one or more DevOps tools is a plus
