The description: The College of Information Technology (CIT) has embarked on an ambitious reorganization effort aimed at harnessing the prevalence of computing and the rise of artificial intelligence to advance scientific and technological innovation, for the benefit of the company. Under its new structure, the College will serve as the link between IT and IT at the University of the United Arab Emirates (UAEU). CIT will build on the strength of its current research programs to create new multidisciplinary research initiatives and partnerships, across and beyond the university campus, essential to its long-term stability and growth. CIT will also expand its education portfolio with new multidisciplinary study programs, including a BSc. in Artificial Intelligence, a BSc. in a data science, a BSc. in Computational Linguistics, jointly with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, an MSc. in IoT and a doctorate. in computer science and informatics. A suite of online micro-accreditations is also planned in emerging areas of study, including IoT, cybercrime law and digital forensics, blockchains and cloud computing.

About the position:

We are seeking faculty candidates with a strong research background in all areas of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, with particular emphasis on emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and on Theoretical foundations and applications of data science and AI / ML in a wide range of domains and domain applications, including intelligent IoT, intelligent environments, and autonomous and intelligent systems. Successful candidates are expected to complement and enhance the current strength of departments in areas related to AI and data science, including deep learning, natural language processing, big data and data mining. , and contribute to teaching and research in these fields.

Qualifications of the candidate:

Applicants must have a doctorate. degree in computer science, information science or closely related fields from a recognized university.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Established record of discipline-specific research publications in internationally renowned journals and conferences.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and securing grants and contracts.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professors from multiple departments and programs.
