Logan, Utah-based Malouf has added Phil Dutson and Casey Doolittle to its software development department. Dutson will be director of web development and Doolittle will be director of software engineering. Going forward, they will work together to provide broader technical support to Malouf business partners.
Doolittle oversees the software engineering team. One of his main responsibilities is the management of Malouf’s internal software. These systems include shipping software, customer relationship software, inventory and warehouse management software, supply chain/purchasing management software, and customer accounting software.
“I am passionate about software development and use my expertise to drive business profitability and success,” Doolittle said. “With my new position at Malouf, I am excited to help create the most effective software solutions that support our retail partners and their specific needs.”
Previously a software developer at a well-known fitness retailer for 15 years, Doolittle held several highly specialized positions in the tech industry, including technical writer at Pearson and communications technician for the United States Marine Corps. He also served as adjunct professor and acting head of the computer science department at Stevens-Henager College.
Dutson leads the efforts of Malouf’s web development team. His department oversees the operations of their Wholesale Resource Center (WRC), as well as their product websites like maloufhome.com, weekenderbedding.com and saltflathome.com. He works closely with each member of the team and educates them on best practices and uses original strategies to give Malouf a competitive edge.
“I’m excited to be part of creating a cohesive strategy between our brands, marketing, design and development teams,” said Dutson. “Malouf is known in the industry for his in-house capabilities. I hope to maintain this reputation while streamlining internal processes and finding new ways to grow. »
Dutson has over 15 years of experience in web development and he knows a myriad of development strategies, methods and principles. He is also the author of several technical books which have been translated into more than five languages. Prior to Malouf, he spent seven years as a solutions architect for a consumer wellness brand.
