- elev8 and Microsoft seek to accelerate the employability of tech talent in Nigeria
elev8 education, one of the world’s leading digital skills and transformative education partners, recently announced a collaboration with Microsoft to transform the software development skills of young people in Nigeria.
elev8 and Microsoft, through the Africa Transformation Office (ATO), seek to accelerate the employability of tech talent in Nigeria and with this in mind, they have launched a free software development career progression program for those who want to join the fastest-growing IT industry.
The elev8-Microsoft career progression program invests in professional software development training through a robust skills curriculum aimed at key industries and profiles across Nigeria.
The 58-day program, which will begin with a pilot program in March, will train 125 students and is aimed at currently unemployed learners in Nigeria.
The elev8-Microsoft career progression program combines virtual classroom learning with hands-on projects for its software development cohort in Nigeria.
“elev8 is committed to providing high quality services to our partners, and the best way to achieve this is to invest in technology talent and equip them with hands-on experience that will enable them to lead long and successful IT careers. Running the Career Accelerator Program in conjunction with Microsoft will give these talents the tools to be competitive in the IT industry,” said Lars Johannisson, Regional Director for Africa, elev8.
“Transformative technology is becoming a major foundation for Africa’s economic development. Microsoft is very intentional about ensuring that, together with our partners, we help professionals develop the advanced skills and certifications needed to contribute meaningfully to the continent’s digital economy,” says Ola Williams, Country Manager, Microsoft Nigeria.
The first cohort of the elev8-Microsoft career progression program is scheduled to begin on the 21stst from March, and computer science, information technology, engineering and science graduates with less than two years of computer science experience are encouraged to apply via https://bit.ly/3pvBMAi
