Chinese Programs Instructor – Computer Science/Software Engineering


The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Detroit Mercy College of Engineering and Science invites applicants for a full-time position as a nonpermanent Chinese Program Instructor in Computer Science or Software Engineering from August 2022. Annual appointments are renewable based on performance reviews. A completed PhD in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or related field, strong communication skills and a student-centered approach to excellent teaching and learning are required. The instructors will teach undergraduate courses to support the department’s programs in China. Teaching assignments abroad currently last six to twelve weeks.


The successful candidate will be an effective and enthusiastic student-centered teacher, committed to best practices for active learning and student achievement, with a demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse student population. Instructors are expected to teach undergraduate courses and labs in computer programming and software engineering at our partner schools in China.
